Soultek News

John McCormick of the DetroitNews believes the global warming movement is not a joke, but that the green movement has become a zealot-driven jihad. I say forget the green movement and global warming, its' all about foreign oil dependency and national security.

Is the green movement a zealot-driven jihad?

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Green critic John McCormick claims the green movement has turned into a jihad

"If reducing CO2 output is the name of the game -- and let's remember that no-one has proved that man-made CO2 has anything to do with the earth's natural warming trend ....," John McCormick states as he attacks the green movement's jihad against fuel inefficiency in today's DetroitNews.

Tell us what you really think, John!

For a moment, let's ignore the fact that hordes of respectable scientists, including many working at NASA, for example, have demonstrated extremely strong correlations between man, CO2 and global warming using every kind of model imaginable, including from data measuring hundreds of thousands of years of ice core data. Let's not focus on the science right now.

In fact, I'll even back John.

Science has not proven beyond all doubt that man is causing global warming. Solar radiation, for example, could still be a confounding variable. Thus far, science has only proven that MOST of the data suggests man is responsible for, minimally, some global warming.

However, science has, without any doubt, demonstrated that man should take global warming, regardless of the cause, very seriously. Something John, it seems, would rather just ignore in favor of a Ferrari.

As long is there is at least a 1 percent chance - which there almost always is in science - that man isn't causing global warming, I'm sure John will passionately continue his jihad against the green zealots - and many of them are zealots. Many of them, such as Al Gore, have created as many enemies as believers with their pompous hypocrisy, to which John rightly alludes.

Nonetheless, the real point is that global warming doesn't matter today when it comes to fuel economy, but not for the reasons John thinks.

Achieving significantly improved fuel economy in America is, or at least it should be, the most important issue facing America - not because of global warming, but because of National Security.

Please, John, convince me that foreign oil dependency isn't a threat to national security!

Coincidently, fighting foreign oil dependency just also happens to be one of the best ways to fight global warming, which is a nice bonus considering that scientists haven't proven that man IS NOT causing global warming. Global warming critics CANNOT explain away the strong, scientifically-verifiable correlation between man, CO2 and global warming, demonstrated by model after model after model, using science.

So, why not kill two birds with one foreign-oil dependency ending stone? What's the harm, John?

The fact that critics, such as John, perpetually focus on the 'green jihad', rather than foreign oil dependency, as their favored reason to attack any approach aimed at increasing fuel economy is laughable and nothing short of pure lunacy.

If you want to give your money to Bin Laden to attack the commie, green bastards of America, John, just send him a check directly. Have some cajones and stand up for what you believe, but please stop hiding behind the green jihadists.
