Top picks according to Kipplingers
January 26, 2012
Kipplinger has just released its latest car rankings for 2012, and only one hybrid made best in class. According to Kipplingers the Lexus RX 450h hybrid was the 2012 Best in Class Midsize & Large Crossover
However, a couple other Toyota hybrid cars also picked up some acclaim from Kipplingers.
Both the brand new 2012 Toyota Camry hybrid and the 2012 Toyota Prius V were best new models in their respective classes, the $20,000 - $25,000 range for the Camry hybrid, and the wagon segment for the V hybrid.
Likewise, the Prius V also picked up the award for best resale value in its class and best fuel economy, while the Camry hybrid offered the best non-plug-in fuel economy in its class.
Seems odd the Prius V didnt' pick up best in class, in my opinion. Most fuel efficient, best resale value and best new model. Sounds like a winner to me.
Just more proof that the Prius V is making consumers rethink the crossover.
Anyway, not a bad showing for Toyota with the Prius V and Camry hybrid shaping up to be the best new hybrids in 2012.
