Rising congestion: Another reason to consider hybrids
Congestion is on the rise and getting worse. In fact, in large cities like Los Angeles, congestion has increased rush hour commutes as much as 71 percent - wasting not just time, but lots of gas.
Fortunately, hybrid cars love congestion and often far exceed EPA fuel economy ratings in such conditions.

Actually, the Prius can be a very smart automotive purchase according to the likes of Consumer Reports, JD Power, Kipplingers and now Forbes.
According to Forbes, the Prius is one of the ten most Value-Packed vehicles.

Higher gas prices haven’t killed hybrid car deals yet |
The 2008 gas spike led to a significant increase in demand for hybrid cars, often resulting in dealer markups as high as $5000 atop MSRP, as well as other dealer add-ons, such as required leather upgrades.
While demand for hybrids has been increasing as gas prices have risen, dealer markups have not yet reared their ugly heads.
In fact, there are actually a number of deals being offered on some of the top hybrid vehicles.
