These two hybrids offer real bang for the buck
There is often a lot talk regarding whether hybrid cars make cost-effective sense, and according to many automotive media pundits, hybrids aren't a wise financial move.
But maybe they're wrong.
According to Hybridcarblog, both the Toyota Camry hybrid and the Toyota Prius hybrid are two of the most cost-effective cars available today -- whether hybrid or not -- after 5 years of ownership.
Considering that the average length of ownership is now nearly 11 years, that means these two hybrids enable owners to save quite a bit of money over the lifetime of these vehicles.
I know what you're thinking. What about the batteries?
Well, according to Consumer Reports, even a ten year old Toyota Prius is still one of the best used vehicles you can buy, even if the battery has to be replaced thanks to a healthy supply of used batteries.
If you're in the market for a new Camry, the Camry hybrid is probably the best Camry available, despite the hybrid premium.
And, not surprisingly, the Toyota Prius continues to be a fantastic offering, especially for average buyers.
So, don't listen to the hybrid haters. Hybrids like the Toyota Prius and the Toyota Camry hybrid make sense, real cost-effective sense.
Cost-effective hybrid cars. It's not an oxymoron.
