Another
E Flex Concept from GM
GM has now added another vehicle to its portfolio of E
Flex Drive concept vehicles, the Cadillac Provoq. The new
five passenger crossover concept was debuted at the
Consumer Electronics Show today in Las Vegas.
However, unlike its more famous relative, the Chevy
Volt, the Cadillac Provoq is planned as a fuel cell
vehicle.
With a 70 kW front-drive electric motor and two 30 kW
rear-motors, this front wheel drive vehicle - with an all
wheel drive option - will hit 0 - 60 in about 8.3 seconds.
Based on GM's fifth generation of fuel cell technology,
the Provoq will utilize an 88 kW fuel cell stack that has
been reduced by a third over the previous generation.
Additionally, the battery pack in the Provoq has been
upgraded to lithium versus the NiMH battery pack of the
previous generation. The 60 kW battery can also be plugged
in for overnight charging.
