Ford Fusion Hybrid
If there is one thing to know about the fantastic Ford Fusion hybrid, it's this: 91 percent of Fusion hybrid owners would buy another Fusion hybrid according to Consumer Reports.
What more do you want?
The 2010 Ford
Fusion hybrid isn't just a solid alternative to the Toyota Camry hybrid. It might actually be better than the Camry hybrid.
In fact, the Fusion hybrid out performs the Camry hybrid in both highway and city fuel economy. So, Ford has demonstrated that its upgraded hybrid powertrain isn't just good, it's great.
The 2010 Ford Fusion
hybrid is
propelled by a four cylinder, 2.5 liter engine that,
coupled with the electric motor, produces 155 horsepower.
Thanks to a significant
reduction in hybrid component size and weight, Ford has
been able to make significant improvements in its hybrid
drive drive train compared to the Escape
hybrid.
For instance, the
Fusion hybrid can remain in electric mode
twice as long as an Escape hybrid - up to 47 mph - which
accounts for its impressive city fuel economy.
In addition to the
significant upgrades to its hybrid drive, the Ford
Fusion hybrid also utilizes a gorgeous SmartGauge with
EcoGuide instrument cluster that can be programmed in a
number of ways to help drivers maximize hybrid fuel
economy.
The Fusion hybrid is Ford's best hybrid - by far.
The real question is, how many Fusion hybrids will Ford produce per year?
Early reports suggested just 25,000 Fusion hybrids per
year, which would be disappointingly low.
Either way, this is Ford's best hybrid work so far. Hopefully, it's an indication of what Ford's future holds.
Now, if we can only get Ford to increase production.
And, if you act now, you can still qualify for a hybrid tax credit. |
