Honda announced that the world’s first V-6 powered
hybrid automobile will hit dealerships nationwide on
Dec.3, 2004.

A full hybrid, the Honda Accord will
utilize the third-generation of Honda’s advanced
Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) combined with a new
Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) cylinder deactivation
technology to deliver V-4 fuel efficiency with the power
of a V-6.
The Honda
Accord Hybrid Car will be “the first hybrid
vehicle that combines superb fuel economy with truly
exhilarating performance,” according to Tom Elliott,
executive vice president of American Honda.
The Accord Hybrid will get about 30mpg in the city and
37mpg on the highway, while delivering 255 horsepower -
producing superb power and driving performance.

The Accord hybrid is state-of-the-art technology and
performance inside and out that will include leather
interior, dual zone automatic hybrid climate control, an
8-way power driver’s seat, SM Satellite radio and
6-disc CD changer. In addition, the Accord Hybrid will
include driver and front passenger side airbags, first
and second row side curtain airbags, four-wheel
anti-lock brakes and a traction control system. Finally,
the Accord Hybrid will include an exclusive rear deck
lid spoiler and specially designed alloy wheels to
improve the hybrid’s aerodynamic performance.
