"If we're not being
seen as considerate to our own customers," he said.
"Why should we receive consideration as an
industry?"
Hybrid
cars further demonstrate just how bad customer service
is at many dealerships. For instance, numerous hybrid
buyers have complained that car salespeople have lied to
them regarding tax credits for hybrids, car pool lane
access, fuel economy, and more.
Too many salespeople say
only what consumers want to hear. Even worse, many simply
lie and deceive. Honesty, it seems, has little to do with
selling automobiles. Ultimately, it doesn't seem most
salespeople care one bit if consumers are buying the right
vehicle to meet their needs.
Additionally, since
hybrid technology is so new, many salespeople don't seem
to understand much about hybrids - making a hybrid
purchase an even more difficult decision. Furthermore,
since hybrid demand has often outstripped supply or
selection, and since hybrid resale value has remained
high, the financing and pricing of hybrids has remained
confusing and deceptive.
I wonder what other
hybrid buying horror stories are out there?
