As if things couldn't get worse for the Big 3, for the
first time EVER, Asian automakers have outsold the Big
3 in the US according to CNBC's Phil
Lebeau.
Ironically, Chrsyler has yet to sell a hybrid. Ford
has resisted an increase in Escape
hybrid production, despite strong demand, for
years now. And, GM is only selling its full hybrid
technology in the largest of SUVs.
On the other hand, the two top Asian automakers,
Toyota and Honda, have been selling hybrids for about
a decade. And amidst the car sales slaughter, the hybrid
cars king, Toyota, is able to mark up the Prius
and Camry
hybrids by as much as $3000 in hot markets because
of demand.
Innovation and Efficiency. Without 'em, fo'get 'bout
it!
