MicroFuelers help make ethanol more sensible?
Keep it localI've been following the ethanol micro fueling industry from a distance for the last year or so. These portable ethanol micro refineries are not cheap, at least $10,000 for a quality system, so they really don't make sense for home use.
Lately, however, lots of breweries are using spent yeast to create ethanol, and I think that's a great idea, especially if much of that ethanol is used at the business. For instance, all company vehicles should be running on the fuel created from the business's waste.
These types of closed loops, it seems to me, are the ideal course for ethanol and biofuels to take these days. Keep it local and close as many efficiency loops as possible.
What do you think? Should the government temper it's biofuel approach away from national goals towards regional goals?
