When the MGM City Center opens in 2009, it will be one of the largest green hotels in the world. How do you become a green hotel? Apply for certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

Unfortunately, LEED certification is a bit sketchy. Thus Travel and Leisure recommend a few other hotel certifications. Check 'em out.
