Better than plastic?

For the last several years, I've bought living Christmas trees to celebrate the Holidays, but I've wondered what I would do if it came down to buying a real tree and tossing it out after Christmas, or buying a fake tree.

According a Yahoo article, you should choose the real deal - forget the fake tree because of the plastics and chemicals involved. If that's not enough, buy your tree from a family farm that doesn't use so many chemically-treated pesticides and fertilizers.

Or, you can do what my grandma used to do: decorate one of your large house plants and forget a tree altogether.
