Sony's new green TV?
Only .12 inches thick"Sony Corp. said Monday it plans the world's first commercial launch of ultra-thin televisions using organic light emitting diode (OLED) technology in December, aiming to revive its reputation for innovation.
The next generation television has a screen with a thickness of just three millimetres (0.12 inches), which was made possible because the organic display is self-luminescent and does not require a backlight.
Such screens, which sandwich a very thin layer of organic material between two plates, use less power and offer brighter images and wider viewing angles than liquid crystal display panels."
The energy consumption of some TVs has become ridiculous. Kudos Sony!

Looking forward to hearing more, when will they come out, I wasn't aware of the energy consumption of flat screen TVs and was considering buying, I guess I can wait, but would like a time frame
