Energy efficient investing by Merrill Lynch
Making money off of climate change? There are companies that make green products, then there are companies that understand that being energy efficient can be profitable -regardless of products or services. Merrill Lynch believes these companies provide investors an advantage in today's world, and the company will utilize this efficiency standard in their indicies.
"The launch of such indicies for investors reflects the worry that many companies will be hurt by climate change, such as more extreme weather, or by policies intended to prevent this, such as tough caps on greenhouse gas emissions."
"Indicies are meant to identify companies that will be hurt least by or even profit from climate change and such regulations."
