The Feds need to fund geothermal drilling

Why not geothermal drilling?

The U.S. government has given billions of dollars to oil companies to increase domestic oil production by developing advanced deep water off-shore drilling. Fine. Why then is the government, via the EPA, canceling the funding of geothermal drilling?

Geothermal power will never power all of America's electricity needs, but it could provide a nice portion of America's energy needs using some of cleanest and most renewable energy known. Unfortunately, much of that energy will require new forms of heat mining which will require more technologically advanced drilling techniques - a perfect opportunity for the
EPA.

Yes, oil drilling has more potential - short term potential - but geothermal energy could essentially be used forever. Why not use it? C'mon Feds, use your heads.
