Big Oil to take over alternative fuels market?
BP PLC has provided $500,000,000 to the Universities of California and Illinois to develop an Energy Biosciences Institute."UC Berkeley is looking to combine its expertise in engineering and life sciences to find ways to develop new fuel sources and to make solar energy more powerful and less expensive," the AP reported today.
The University of Illinois, on the other hand, "will focus on growing plants that can be used to produce alternative fuels."

If anybody thinks that big oil won't be jumping into any viable energy idea that makes money they are just fooling themselves. 30 years from now you might be filling up at the Exxon hydrogen station and people will be complaining about Big Hydrogen instead of big oil.
