Kyoto Technology Transfer Missing

"Rich countries have not transferred technology to combat global warming to India as promised under the Kyoto Protocol on climate change, a top Indian environment official has said."

Most industrialized countries that have signed the Kyoto Protocol are not meeting their emissions, nor are they helping the future's most important polluters, India and China, develop the technologies to fight global warming. As a result, China is building a coal plant every 3 days - an it isn't a clean coal plant.

If global warming is real, the worst of global warming pollution is yet to come. Even if the U.S. signs Kyoto, India and China will easily will easily replace the savings in carbon emissions from the U.S.. If reducing emissions is going to be terribly expensive for the world's richest countries, it's going to be impossible for China and India.

Conservation will obviously be important, but advanced technologies will ultimately be the only solution. Hopefully, the world's energy companies don't deal with global warming the same way Detroit has dealt with fuel economy.
