Astrox: Hypersonic space plane revolution?
How about going from New York to Japan in two hours while reaching orbital heights above the earth? That's the promise of hypersonic space travel which came one step closer to reality with the creation of a combustor for an inward-turning scramjet engined space plane called the Astrox. "Hypersonic space planes could revolutionize the transportation industry, much like jet planes did for subsonic commercial aviation 50 years ago," said Astrox President Ajay Kothari. "Seemingly remote parts of the world would be nearly as accessible as a two-hour drive." (Press Release)
