Asia to triple greenhouse gas emissions in 25 years

Under the most optimistic circumstances, Asian countries will only triple their greenhouse gas emissions in the next 25 years. If one takes a more pessimistic view, the increase in emissions could be far higher. "Progress toward reducing the growth of greenhouse gases from the transport sector will require partnerships and involvement of a wide range of stakeholders," Bindu Lohani, director-general of ADB's sustainable development department, wrote in its foreword.
