Canada not meeting Kyoto requirements
The U.S. didn't commit to the Kyoto Protocol because such a move was deemed too expensive and senseless if China and India weren't required to join. While many other countries did sign the Kyoto Protocol, very few are actually meeting their requirements. Canada has essentially not even tried (more). While liberals blame the current conservative administration in Canada, liberals did spend billions when in power, yet achieved very little. Despite noble intentions, Kyoto is going to be difficult to achieve without technological innovation. Conservation alone will not save the world from global warming. Technological innovation will be as or more important than conservation. If protocols such as Kyoto come at the cost of innovation, then failure is to be expected. Yet, without Kyoto-type limits will we ever take action?
