Solar roof investment recovered in 7 years

I was watching CNBC this morning and a segment featured the home builders show where they showcased solar roof tiles. In an interview with Open Energy Corps , their representative stated that it would cost around $20,000 to $25,000 for a solar tiled roof, but that a third of that cost could be recovered by rebates in California, for example. Consequently, a solar roof consumer could expect to see a return on their solar investment within 7 years.
