BMW to offer dual hydrogen/gasoline powered vehicle

BMW will join at least Mazda in producing dual hydrogen/gasoline powered vehicles that could be offered by 2010. Still, these are not fuel cell vehicles. These vehicles will be driven by internal combustion engines. (more)

Nonetheless, studies by Ford have indicated that hydrogen powered vehicles are not necessarily very fuel efficient and Ford has indicated that hydrogen powered hybrid vehicles offer far better fuel efficiency than simply replacing gasoline with hydrogen as a fuel. In addition to Ford, Toyota already has a small fleet of Prius hybrid cars that also run on hydrogen.
