Edmunds.com helped CNN.com determine the 10 hottest cars in America.

"To find the 10 hottest cars in America for CNNMoney.com, Edmunds.com, a partner providing data and content for CNN Web sites, looked for three things: Actual selling prices closest to the vehicle's full sticker price; lowest amounts in rebates or other sales incentives; shortest times spent on dealer lots before being snapped up by buyers." Surprise, surprise, the Toyota Prius hybrid is the hottest car in America. Also, 3 of the top 10 hottest cars in America are hybrid cars. Joining the Prius are the Ford Escape hybrid and the Lexus RX400h.

With gas prices destined to rise significantly this year, and with the possibility of gas spikes - either due to terrorism or hurricanes - these hybrids will only get hotter.
