Sanyo's future is Volkswagen hybrid cars?

"Sanyo Electric, a struggling maker of electronics, hopes to make the [hybrid vehicle] battery business a major driver of its profit recovery," according to MotorTrend. Sanyo will now supply hybrid batteries for Volkswagen's hybrid vehicles. Eventually, Sanyo would like to control 50% of the battery market for hybrids.

Another hybrid supplier means more competition and better pricing, and that old hybrid momentum just keeps rolling.
