Ironically, the DetroitNews reported that a Republican Senator blocked an effort, at the request of the Big 3, to make the EPA fuel efficiency ratings more accurate. It turns out conventional vehicles - not hybrid cars - are actually up to 35 percent less efficient than the EPA rates. Read my article, Hybrid Cars and EPA Estimates: Now it's War
Either some auto writers are just ignorant, or just plain media whores chasing advertising dollars.
