Toyota hybrid price increase?
Toyota has recently announced that it might raise prices on its vehicles to 'help' struggling GM and Ford. Starting in October, Toyota is planning to raise its prices 2 percent to 3 percent because it fears anti-import sentiment if GM or Ford should sink further.
Thus far all details around the plan are sketchy and it is not known whether the plan would include hybrid cars. I'm guessing that if the plan goes forward it will not include the Prius hybrid car, nor the Highlander hybrid, but that is pure speculation.
At this time, the plan is a proposal and has not been 'officially' approved by Toyota Corporation. Additionally, this is the second time such a price increase has been mentioned by Toyota, and some feel such a move might be illegal.

It's already happen........The base price of a prius was raised $300.00 on August 1st this year. Reason was it was to help the Domestic Market................Lot of help that did..........enter the Gas cruch and the hurrican and now dealers are out of Prii and when one comes in that isn't pre-sold..........$2,995.00 added to MSRP!!!
When is the US Government going to get off their collective Butts and get a Handle on this. The new Engery Bill shouldn't limit the Break to a Number of Hybrids sold by a Automotive Company. They sould Punish the Companys that don't encourage Hybrid growth....... They tell you where you can Smoke or Not.........Let tell them what to drive or NOT.
Just my Opinion......take it or leave it....Thanks

I don't know when the government is going to get off their butts. Maybe when the majority of the people start voting and take the power away from the lobbyists.
