Congress asked to increase ethanol production

Because foreign oil "imports are a major risk to the nation's energy, economic and environmental security," governors from 30 states asked the President and Congress to increase ethanol production, "the safest and cheapest way to mitigate these risks." Since transportation accounts for more than half of U.S. oil consumption, the governors note, why not fuel America's vehicles with home grown corn, rather than foreign oil?(AP on MSNBC)
