Is the GM and DaimlerChrysler partnership to develop hybrid vehicle motors a sign of things to come?

According to Christine Tierney, of The Detroit News, it is. "Detroits automakers, struggling with weak profits, falling market share and huge legacy costs, risk falling further behind unless they work together. That's especailly true when it comes to efforts to develop alternative technologies."
