20,000 Accord hybrids to the rescue?

If you were hoping that the new Honda Accord hybrid would provide not only some comparison options, but some actual inventory, you were wrong.

Just like the Ford Escape hybrid, there will only be 20,000 Accord hybrids produced this year. Also like the Escape hybrid, Honda has those that make over 100,000 per year in mind as their ideal customer.

So, is that the fault of Americans or automotive corporations?

Hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius prove that many customers are ready to take the plunge, but we can't.

Auto corporations continually say Americans want bigger, faster vehicles. Yet, those same companies will offer $60 billion in rebates to sell those same vehicles that we want so badly?

How sad.
