Zap to bring European SmartCar to U.S.
The European Smart ForTwo 60 mpg vehicle was approved by the EPA for sale in the United States.
Zap, a California Company, hopes to sell about 15,000 customized ForTwo's in the United States, which has been sold in Europe since the late '90s.
Smart, a division of DaimlerChrysler, is also producing a ForFour SUV for U.S. production, based on its ForFour car.
I've seen the ForTwo, and it's a cool little car. I'd really like it if they made it a hybrid. A hybrid car such as this easily has the potential of hitting 100 mpg with almost zero pollution.
