Company offers employees $5000.00 toward hybrid vehicle purchase

Hyperion, a software company in California, will give employees $5000.00 towards the purchase of a hybrid car with a rating of 45 mpg. The only hybrid-electric vehicles that meet that fuel efficiency rating are the Toyota Prius, Honda Civic hybrid, and the Honda Insight.

Both the Ford Escape hybrid and Honda Accord hybrid did not meet the company's fuel efficiency requirements.

Godfrey Sullivan, CEO of business-software company Hyperion, based in Santa Clara, Calif. has already budgeted at least $1,000,000.00 for the program.
